With the rising popularity of the MP3 Blog and the fundamental shift in music consumption that they represent (in terms of a seemingly permissable promotional tool distinct from illegal filesharing networks), ardent users can spend hours of time going to site after site and streaming quicktime files one at a time to discover music. Sure, there were sites like Hype Machine which works like a blog search engine to help speed things along, but now there is Peel (Mac only) which works like an RSS reader for MP3 blogs.
Users can add blogs as they find them and the application, which looks a lot like iTunes, presents the files as a streamable playlist or as a webpage. You can click to download and the program automatically adds them to iTunes.
The internets have always been an amazing timewaster, but this revolutionizes everything. Now you can find two or three times as much cool new music in the time you misused previously!
Thanks Peel!
