Not the most trends oriented post we've ever done here at EMERGE, but since we are avowed obsessives of Manchester's storied Factory Records imprint, responsible for releasing artists like Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio, Durutti Column, and loads more- not to mention the incredible visual identity courtesy of Peter Saville or the labels infamous nightclub The Hacienda.

We wrote up the incredible visual compendium of Factory's releases in our year-end art wrap-up and it is with a heavy heart that we share the news that label founder and subject of the acclaimed film 24 Hour Party People Tony Wilson is about to begin chemotherapy following the removal of a cancerous kidney last month.

Here's hoping this absolute visionary makes a full and rapid recovery.
