No, ESPO aka Stephen Powers is not announcing that he still writes graffiti. He's doing something much more interesting.

This Saturday, November 11th, the author of The Art of Getting Over and First and Fifteenth is taking a break from his much-blogged about projects including the Dreamland Artists Club to take 40 pieces of his own art over to West Broadway in SOHO which he's selling first come first served alongside that guy with the steel girder on the roof of his car and a million dudes selling shots of Manhattan at night and other NYC landmarks.

According to the press release, Powers' first show in NYC since 2004 is deliberately outside of the traditional gallery setting as a tribute to the city itself and in recognition of his place both within and without the art establishment.

Whatever his rationale is, EMERGE will be out on West Broadway bright and early trying to cop one of these pieces along with what will likely be hordes of well-informed hipsters and collectors.
