For the second year in a row, NYC's NoLIta neighborhood is throwing a block party on Spring Street between Elizabeth Street and Bowery. While last year's party, organized in large part by downtown scenester Aron the Don of aNYthing featured a DJ set by Eric Duncan of remix duo Rub N Tug and a performance by outthere noisemakers Gang Gang Dance, this year's fiesta is not about music. In addition to celebrating one of New York's most interesting and eclectic neighborhoods, the block party is all about the World Cup.

In fact, one of the central activities will be watching the final game between Italy and France on a mobile big screen television being brought in for the occassion by Adidas, whose flagship store and Originals boutique are both just blocks away.

Other sponsors include a wild mix of local restaurants, bars and some of the coolest shops in town: Alife, Bar Bossa, Bread, Barmarche, Cafe Habana, Cafe El Portal, Duncan Quinn, Eleven, EMC2, Epistrophy, Freemans, L'Asso, Lovely Day, Lombardi's, Omni Wine, Peasant, Pioneer Bar, Parisi Bakery, Public, Room 18, Ruby's, Shebeen, SSUR, Spring Street Lounge, Tricia's Place, Vig Bar, Xicala Wine Bar and Wylie Law
