Las Vegas isn't usually high on people's lists of coolest cities. A heavily touristed fantasy realm dominated by gambling, permissive attitudes towards prostitution and corporate conventions , Vegas' shopping options are generally of the mega-designer variety. Luxury goods just seem to complement the ostentatious permissiveness that defines Vegas.
However, Vegas is also the fastest growing urban area in the US, and home to Hip Hop Site, one of the first online destinations for hip hop music and culture. Ironically enough, HHS's motto is "it ain't where you're from it's where you're at." Other local outposts for the traditionally coastal street culture include Boro 51 and Sin City's latest style outpost, Fruition, a carefully curated shop devoted to vintage streetwear (think "dookie" gold chains, British Knights high tops, Cross Colors denim circa 1990). The shop's website also includes a really interesting blog that blends a bit of Fruition's Las Vegas' favorite spots, like Luv-It frozen custard shop, vintage hip hop video footage, party notices, and some vintage style insights.
