SloMo Video Festival

Is it just us or are there more film and video festivals than ever before these days? Here's one of the more unusual ones that's making some waves out in left field. Cannes and Sundance probably don't have much to worry about just yet...

SloMo Video Festival features 100 one minute long videos in, you guessed it, slow motion. Travelling around the globe, SMVF seeks to "transubstantiate time into taffy, and turn the usual expectations of a video show on its side and inside out." What happened to old-fashioned entertainment?

Well, the event's creators have an answer for that. SMVF is about reclaiming that contemplative space we all enjoyed as kids, just lying out in the grass watching ants march by or clouds form and morph in the sky. It's all about exploring the mysteries of time and space.

Check the website for upcoming screenings in your town.
