Hot off the heels of their commissioned mashup of Blondie and The Doors entitled "Rapture Riders," the a/v pioneers known as Addictive TV are participating in the San Francisco International Film Festival.
Having made their first ever US appearance at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, this duo of VJs with serious musical chops have established themselves as true pioneers in the realm of live visuals, alongside folks like Tomato and the The Light Surgeons.
Having made a name for themselves by plundering literally miles of film footage to create their witty and visually incredible pastiches and then cutting them to a percussive musical backing, Addictive TV are currently working with the venerable BBC on a program about live video mixing and are taking part in two programs at the SFIFF.
This past Monday, they screened a best-of and hosted the US premiere of The Eye Of The Pilot, "a live mashup of 1950s 8mm film, art deco-inspired graphics and music" and this coming Wednesday, May 3rd is "Addictive TV Eats San Francisco." A closer to the festivals KinoTek series, Addictive TV will perform at Mighty.
