Downtown artists and scenesters extraordinaire Glynnis McDaris and Gemma Corsano of Wild Cat NYC are working with mobile phone giant Nokia to seed their latest multimedia handset, the N91 amongst NYC's music, art and fashion elite.

Utlizing a pop-up space at Divine Studios on East 4th Street in Lower Manhattan, the ladies are inviting around 130 scenesters including DJ Language, zine publisher Ilirjana Alushaj, photographer KT Auleta, concert promoter Todd Patrick, and The Rapture's Gabe Andruzzi to come by, have a drink and some snacks and, of course, receive a nearly $1000 cell phone completely gratis. The seeding sessions include an indepth training on the workings of the N91, which includes a 2 megapixel still and video camera, an onboard wi-fi connection and a whopping 4GB harddrive for storing mp3s, video clips and images. Packaged in a sleek brushed aluminum tube, the handset comes with high-quality headphones and a remote control that doubles as a hands-free doohickey as well.

The space, replete with giant bed and colorful printed cushions is decorated with screenprinted show posters by Brooklyn artist Kayrock and to bring that rock n roll energy to life, Wild Cat have arranged for two performances on Wednesday May 3rd and Friday May 5th. Helping to spread the word beyond the lucky few who actually get a N91, they've partnered with EMERGE designers Dave Denis and Wowch alongside Arthur Magazine and style emporium I Heart to put on shows by LA's Lavender Diamond and uber-hippies Feathers.
