Photographer Christy Bush is exhibiting new photographs from her collaborative "Soundtrack to Nothing" project, which also includes a book of the same name and an actual soundtrack played by rock scenesters Sam Fog of Interol, Dagon James, Adam Franklin from Swervedriver, Grasshopper (Mercury Rev) and REM's Michael Stipe.
Opening at the Bespoke Gallery, the photo show includes portraits of teenage music fans attending concerts in the US, Europe and Australia. Photographed in the venues themselves- in the lobbies, lavatories, backstage and out in the crowd, the subjects appear out of time, as if Bush's shots were drawn not from a rock show from the past couple of years but from a roll of stills from a lost French New Wave movie.
A CD of music composed for this show is included in the $40 purchase price for Bush's exhibition catalog.
