One of EMERGE's favorite electronic labels just wrapped up their maiden voyage as a label across North America. Get Physical, which was named Label of the Year by the UK's influential DJ Magazine last year, is home to tastemaking DJ/remix team M.A.N.D.Y., DJ T, and the stunning live act Booka Shade, who's new album "Movements" is an early contender for techno record of 2006. With a sound straddling uber-hip electro and more broadly accessible techno and house music, Get Physical has straddled the divide between mainstream club audiences and cooler-than-though trainspotters, unifying the notoriously fractious dance music scene behind anthems like "Body Language" and "Mandarine Girl."

At their last stop in NYC on Saturday night, the boys managed to resuscitate a party that appeared dead in the water after police shut down the venue in a drug raid Friday night After a false start, the Get Phsyical night got rolling in the basement of Jeremy Scott-designed Happy Valley, which was dripping with sweat after Booka Shade's mindboggling live performance, which involved three laptops, all manner of synths and a set up of midi drums as well as cries of German-accented "Rave On!!!".
